| Robert | Christine,
please send a mail to the new crewmembers: A very
warm welcome to Gameland Europe. Everybody's well to do now. Let's get
rich. That done, let's get stinking rich. And underneath: Bob Robert,
Chief Financial Officer, Gameland INC.
Thanks very much. |
| Grünwald | The playful artistic element combined with a multiple content make the 3D world the ultimate image and marketing tool. |

| Chorus | Paradise on earth Is digitally yours. Everyone gets rich Digging in the data ditch. |
| Christine | Kaysa,
Bob Robert
will be about three hours late at the office.
Same problem: every day he cruises around the block in his Porsche for
hours on end looking for a place to park. I confirmed the appointment with the bank, prepared the meeting for tonight, got biscuits and beverages ready, compiled data for the palmtops, informed the IT experts, changed the flights, booked a sunbed at the hotel in Frankfurt for you and changed your appointment at the dentist's. Can't get hold of our Don. Just his mailbox every time. I'll keep calling him once every hour. Can I leave earlier today - in case you won't need me any longer? Fresh kombucha tea is on its way and I ordered sushi for you at 19hundred. Christine. |
| Schöpfer | Hi Kaysa. I can't understand what you're writing. My world is a complex mixture of wishes and realities. At the interface of these systems our brain is at work, pondering all the time, how much of a wish it can afford and how much reality it'll have to accept. What you're saying about your enterprise and the project is a fairytale. |
| Chorus | A
zillion users
come and pay. Europe, Japan, the USA. They follow suit, they hear the call Of Don, the one who owns it all. You're young and know a thing or two? Then Gameland wants you in their crew. This is the time when money rules And no one gladly suffers fools That may remind them to take heed Where all this wealth and growth might lead. |
| Kaysa | Schöpfer, what's your news? I'm offering you the job you've been waiting for all your life and you say it's a fairytale? It is reality. Kaysa. |
| Employee | A pallet of tissue paper was delivered the day before yesterday. Today it's all gone. How on earth...? Buy your own damn tissue paper. I don't want to see bag checks introduced here. Think it over. |
| Schöpfer | Dear Kaysa, perhaps you should start worrying if you can't tell the difference any more. What you are saying about your company and the project is a fairytale. And a fairytale is a fairytale after all, that's just the way it is - make no mistake. |
| Kaysa | Schöpfer, everything that's going on out there is a fairytale. The banks grant millions in loans for business ideas you can only be ashamed of. At the stock exchange booths are overtaking multinatinals. This is the time for innovations, the best in more than a hundred years. And you're the best man. |
| Chorus | We
want you to know The gods will bestow Their favours to humans For good service to them. |
| Schöpfer | Sure. |
| Chorus | The
gods love
noble deeds To remind the mortals To strive for refinement, Not belittling themselves By filling their shelves But with dross and gold. |
| Schöpfer | Sure
as
well. Kaysa, I've got an assistant. Jenny. You know her – at least on the phone. I'll need another dozen assistants. People are looking for spaces in which to find more than the hard grind of everyday life. They will come and see worlds that are more immense than New York, more elegant than Paris, more lively than Los Angeles, more chaotic than Laos, more miserable than Mexico City, more criminal than Moscow, more dangerous than Beirut, richer than Geneva, tougher than Hong Kong, brighter than Las Vegas and more picturesque than Venice. We call this room in which everybody can make his fortune "Digital Jerusalem". |
| Christine | Mr Grünwald, the boss is asking: where are the basics for the kick-off? |
| Grünwald | Hi
Bob, hi Kaysa. The Gameland conecept is too highbrow. Key
aspects
of usability have not been taken into account and it aims at the wrong
target groups. People want fun. There's the gap. I alsosee the concept
mentions dangers, chaos, misery and crime. Those are killers. My biggest problem with this is "Jerusalem" as a brandname. That just won't do! We need a brand that everyone can grasp at once. What about "Yeah" – that's really emotional and grabs people. "Yeah" has a positive message and is international. M. Grünwald. |
| Kaysa | To
All. Gameland is taking shape. We've got a concept. A wonderful
concept. Each department will discuss this concept
for two
days. Then we'll talk it over and decide how to proceed. The management
has chartered a boat for a little party on Friday afternoon. We want
all of you to get to know each other even better and talk shop and swap
ideas on a more profound level. Everyone is important – more
than ever.
Kaysa Ledig, COO Gameland Europe. Schöpfer,
what a
wonderful concept. I haven't read it yet, but I can see how it's
recharging the company with energy. Please think about the name again.
This whole venture is subsumed under the Gameland brand. "Jerusalem" is
too complex. Gameland should be a place for everybody – and
above all
it should mean one thing to everybody: happiness. Are you still in
London? Regards, Kaysa.
